Talacre
Talacre beach, Point of Ayr, Prestatyn, North Wales.
Directions:
From the M56: Follow the M56 westbound to the end and follow signs for Queensferry A494. After the traffic lights take the first exit to the industrial estate. Follow this road straight on at all lights and roundabouts until you see the signs for the beach at a roundabout. If you see signs for Upper Gronant then you have gone too far. Follow the road to the beach and go straight on past all the arcades and straight onto the beach.
From North Wales: Go through Prestatyn to the coast road. Follow the Coast road for Flint and you will see the sign posts for the beach at the first roundabout. Then as above.
Beach Type:
Talacre is a good kiting beach. There is about 5 miles of sand to play on which is extremely wide at low tide. Check the tides. The beach is still flyable with a 7 metre tide. The sand dunes are also great fun with a small kite or in light winds.
There is good quality sand although you must be careful for soft sand strips when buggying. A good buggying beach.
No good for kitesurfing.
Wind
North Easterly to North Westerly is all good.
