Prestatyn
Prestatyn is an area of beach with plenty of rock groins. The groins keep the kiting area to fairly small runs. Longer runs are possible at low tides and using the concrete walkway between them.
Directions Multimap ref.
Getting to Prestatyn in not the easiest. The Nova Centre is the
kiting area. Coming from the A55 take the road to Rhuddlan and follow it through
to the Prestatyn road. The road runs to a roundabout in Prestatyn. Take a left
at the roundabout and follow the road down towards the station. After grossing
the railway bridge you will get to another set of lights. Straight across at the
lights towards the Nova centre. Follow the road around past the front of the
building. Just at the end of the building is an entrance to the back car park
under a height restriction barrier. Go up the ramp into the car park and go
right to the other end of the car park. This is the best are of beach to use for
all traction activities.
Kitesurfing isn't advised at this location due to the extremely strong rip tides and large rock groins!
